Last month we welcomed Ed Halliday to the Fire Tech team. Ed loves helping people to develop new ideas and challenge themselves through technology and entrepreneurship to reach their potential. He will be responsible for growing Fire Tech’s UK business.
“I’m delighted to join the brilliant team at Fire Tech and be part of their vital mission in tech education,” said Ed. “There’s nothing more powerful than giving kids the support and confidence to explore and create – and that’s exactly what Fire Tech does. I can’t wait to help the company continue to grow its impact into the future.”
He was formerly the Head of Ventures at the Entrepreneurship Institute, King’s College London, where he supported the university’s best early-stage ventures to launch and grow.
Over the past three years, he has helped over 60 startups in areas like edtech, digital health, robotics, AR/VR and consumer products to build their products, go to market and scale on the King’s20 Accelerator programme. Since being on the programme, these teams have raised almost £14.5 million in investment and generated over £7.5 million in revenue.
Alongside his work at King’s, he is the co-founder of Future Faculty, a startup that develops entrepreneurial skills and mindsets in students and budding entrepreneurs.
Previously, he was a partner and Operations Director at Coschool, an award-winning education startup that develops socio-emotional skills in school students in Colombia. In 4 years, Coschool has worked with leading private and public schools and government agencies, both in-person and online, to deliver programmes to 12,000 students and almost 3,000 teachers across the country.
